Basic Policies & Code of Conduct Agreement Between Students and The Body Tree College

This agreement outlines the policies & code of conduct agreement each student makes with the College.

Basic Policies:

  1. The College will conduct its affairs in compliance with all laws and regulations, and in accordance with the colleges high ethical standards.
  2. The College will maintain a safe learning space free from discrimination and harassment based on (but not limited to), race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, age, ability or any other impermissible factor.
  3. No student will use, for their own personal gain, or disclose to any third party, any confidential or private information that they have obtained as a result of their attendance at the college.
  4. Regular attendance and active participation in classes are essential for academic success. The college expects students to attend all scheduled classes and to arrive on time. An 80% attendance rate is needed by ITEC and by The Bodytree College to qualify for examinations.
  5. For repeat exams the college has a ‘2 repeat policy’. This means after two unsuccessful repeats of the same course exam, the student must then repeat the course in entirety before they can take the exam again with the college.

Compliance

Any violation of the above basic policies should be reported immediately to your tutor.

The identity of the person or persons making the report will remain confidential except on a need-to-know basis.

responsibility. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behavior and conduct that are essential to maintaining this environment. All members of the Body Tree College community, including students, tutors, staff members, and guests, are expected to adhere to this Code of Conduct.

Basic Code of Conduct:

  1. Treat others with respect, dignity, and consideration, regardless of their race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, age, ability or any other
    impermissible factor.
  2. Refrain from discriminatory behavior, including harassment, bullying, and hate speech.
  3. Respect the rights and property of others, including their personal space and belongings.
  4. Uphold the principles of academic honesty, including avoiding plagiarism, cheating, and falsification of academic records.
  5. Refrain from facilitating or assisting others in academic dishonesty.
  6. Take reasonable care to ensure the safety and well-being of oneself and others.
  7. Refrain from engaging in behavior that could cause harm to oneself or others, including reckless or dangerous behavior.
  8. Report any incidents of violence, harassment, or other safety concerns to a tutor.
  9. Respect and care for college property, including buildings, facilities, and equipment.
  10. Refrain from damaging, defacing, or vandalizing college property.
  11. Use college property and resources for their intended purposes.
  12. Familiarize oneself with college policies and procedures, and comply with them.
  13. Use college technology and resources responsibly and ethically.
  14. Refrain from using college technology including the student portal on the website for illegal or unethical purposes, including hacking, cyberbullying, and
    unauthorised access to college systems.
  15. Respect the boundaries and consent of others in all interactions.
  16. Arrive for class in a timely manner and refrain from engaging in disorderly conduct, including disruptive behavior, disturbing the peace, and failing to comply
    with lawful directions from college tutors.
  17. The use of mobile phones in the classroom is allowed only with the permission from the tutor. If being used for photographic/video/voice recording purposes the consent from everyone in the classroom must be sought.
  18. Any ‘groups’ or forms of communication between students, such as Whatsapp groups, will not be affiliated with the college and therefore the college holds no responsibility for such. Although at any point if a student feels uncomfortable or unsafe within such a group they are encouraged to bring their concerns to the college for any assistance that can be provided.
  19. Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in sanctions, including warnings, fines, suspension, expulsion, or other disciplinary actions.
  20. Sanctions will be imposed in accordance with college policies and procedures.

This Code of Conduct has been put in place to ensure a safe and fun learning environment for every student and tutor. It is important to adhere to these policies wherever possible to ensure the college can keep working on this ethos.

By attending the college students will accept and agree to the above terms and conditions of this agreement
