Supporting Local Champions: Hayleigh Kiely

My name is Hayleigh Kiely and I am 23 years old. I am a primary school teacher and also a black belt martial artist and coach in Hub Martial Arts. Under the guidance of my coach Paul O’Brien, I hold multiple Kickboxing and K1 titles including Irish, 5 nations, European and have also won gold Medals at a World Championships in Italy. 

I am very passionate about helping the next generation through both education and sport. While balancing both alongside my own training can be quite demanding, I motivate myself through a quote that can be seen on my ring walk jacket- ‘Work Hard, Dream Big’. Martial arts has been my life for around 16 years now and I am aiming to fight for a World title in the next couple of months and collect some more amateur titles before turning professional. I believe been given the fight name “Smiley Kiely” at a young age, shows my enjoyment of this exciting journey. 

Luckily, I have the support of Body Tree Community Clinic to keep my body fresh and injury free. Their sponsorship has definitely allowed me as an athlete to boost my performance as I now have regular access to excellent recovery weekly which I am very grateful for. There is a treatment for everyone from sports massage, cupping therapy, acupuncture, head massages, reflexology and more. All at an incredibly affordable cost.
